The band Wayland is named after their hometown in Wayland. Michigan. Currently, the band members all live together in a farmhouse outside of the town, where they write and rehearse between mid-west tour dates. In the past few years, they’ve played many world famous stages such as the Sunset Strip’s Whisky A Go Go and The Viper Room. Wayland has opened up for many national acts like Heart, Foreigner, Buckcherry, Unwritten Law, and Slash. In 2009, Wayland toured Australia, where they headlined the Sydney Tattoo Expo. Last year the band recorded their debut, self-titled album in the famous Can-Am Studios in Los Angeles, CA. The current single, “Shopping for a Savior” is in heavy rotation on 97.9 WGRD in Grand Rapids. The new album is available on iTunes or can be purchased at www.waylandtheband.com.
